London

My train arrived in good time 11;15am. I needed to walk through the newly built st pancras station to the circle line tube(yellow).http://www.stpancras.com/about-stpancras/

The new station was grand new shops and loads of space. I was not really that interested all I had was one thing on my mind, butterflies fluttered around my stomach, i could not keep the smile from my face, this feeling was just fantastic.

I got to the circle line only to find it was closed due to maintenance, my heart dropped for a split second. Now what was I going to do, I asked a steward at the ticket point what the easiest route to Tower hill http://bit.ly/JeMy6. She pointed out that I would have to take the Hammersmith line to Aldgate east and either bus or walk across the short distance to tower hill.

Tower Hill was bustling with tourists, even for myself the sights where fantastic, London always has that something special going on for me. Looking down at the Thames gave me a sense of pride. I took a few pictures on my phone to add to my blog, i had an hour to kill before Chelsea would arrive. My nerves where Jangling so i decided to head for a quick brandy and coke at the local public house Wetherspoons that lay across from Tower hill station. It ended up being a double brandy and coke and soon my nerves started to ebb away.

16/5/2009 A DAY TO REMEMBER

I awoke, my heart beating with excitement, I did not sleep well but that did not bother me. Why?
because today I was going to see my daughter for the first time in fifteen years. I was meeting Chelsea and her mother Jo in London at Tower Hill at 1pm.
I still could not believe this was all true, I showered and made myself look presentable, constantly worrying about how I looked. Would she like me, Am I too short, too old, too thin, too bald, too wrinkly. I stopped and remembered this was my daughter that's when it dawned on me that it did not matter about any of those things, she had just found her dad and that was all that mattered.
It would not take me long to get to London by train, around 30 minutes. It took longer on the bus from the house to station then it did the train. I left early, 10;30am, I could not sit around pondering and mulling over thoughts.
I stood at the bus stop with one other lady, an elderly woman around 70, I started to talk to her as I needed to calm my nerves. In fact I ended up sitting next to her on the bus and talked all of the journey to the station.
The weather was turning out to be pleasant, the clouds where breaking and the sun was beginning to shine.
My phone bleeped, it was Chelsea, 'Morning dad love you x' my heart melted. I had never met my daughter yet she called me dad, something that made me feel quiet humble.
I text her back,'Hello princess, did u sleep well, I didn't lol x'
I got to the ticket desk and asked for a day ticket to London. £18.50 capital card. Which is a bargain really as it lets you on all the tubes and buses in the city.
Chelsea text back 'No, lol hope ur okay x'
I walked to the platform where my train awaited me.
